This was an ongoing teaching assignment to teach beginning drawing. This course focused on instructing students in creating drawings that demonstrate an understanding of light and dark value, compositional elements, illusionist space, figure-ground interaction, and proportional measuring techniques. They learned to use various drawing mediums such as pencil, charcoal, pen and ink, and pastels. The focus of the course was on drawing forms from observation to create realistically rendered drawings. Lectured on contemporary and historical art and used class critiques to foster artistic growth.
